I’ve really been loving denim shirt dresses lately! It seems I’m not alone in that statement because shirt dresses have been one of my top selling styles. I’m eager to buy some new spring and summer clothes, though we are not quite sure what our travel plans will be later this year so I’m holding off on anything too trendy. 3 Different Denim Shirt Dress Looks
Flared Shirt Dress
This dress was even better than I thought it would be when I ordered it online. Don’t you love it when that happens? Yes, it’s short on me, I’m 5’10, though the loose fit and longer back make it wearable. I chose to style it with a pair of white ankle boots and a boater hat, though this denim shirt dress would look equally cute with a pair of sneakers.
This dress could also be worn unbuttoned and open over a pair of white jeans for a fresh spring into summer look. Or pair it with a light colored shacket, like I’m wearing here.
Classic Look Shirt Dress
I’m going to show you just how versatile the shirt dress can be here! First a little about this shirt dress..it comes in five different denim look washes, and is made of Tencell, also called Lyocell, which is an unbelievably soft plant based material. Unbuttoned over a pair of fitted jeans and heels, the lightweight and soft material creates a long and lean line. Throw a black turtleneck under the shirt dress for those colder days, or even a sweatshirt over top. Remember, a shirt dress pairs very well with sneakers, so it’s up to you whether to dress it up for a date night out, or keep it casual for running errands around town.
I shot this dress in between two mirrors in order to show how the waist tie can be tied in the back in an unexpected styling look. Think how you would tie a jacket or coat back, same thing here. This dress also has pockets!
Flat Front Shirt Dress
I love the way this shirt dress lies flat and has roll up sleeves. Rolling them up is a styling option, or you can leave them down and throw a fitted cardigan over the entire dress. I also put my new zip up polo sweatshirt over top for another layered option that is casual, sporty, and comfy. Like the other shirt dresses, depending on how you choose to style it, a pair of sneakers, flats, or block heels will work equally well. So eager for spring to start so I can begin wearing these comfortable and leg lengthening pair of Franco Sarto sandals! The block heel anchors the look, a thinner heel is too dressy and formal for this casual shirt dress.
This dress is also made of super soft, plant based Lyocell, or Tencell as it is also called, making it a sustainable fabric. And did I mention it has pockets?
There are so many ways to style a denim shirt dress, they are the perfect staple piece for a variety of looks. A shirt dress gets your look started and you can style away from there!
