How to Refresh Your Skin with Tula Skincare

Beauty
This post is delivered c/o Tula Skincare.

You may have heard about the skincare line Tula. It’s one of the most beloved skincare brands by bloggers, and I know several women, of a variety of ages, that have been impressed by the line. If you’re new to Tula, I’m going to share some of their most popular products. If you’ve tried Tula products before, this will be a good round up of to see if there are other products that could work for you.

My skin has a tendency to be oily and can get shiny, so I was interested in the actual physical feeling of Tula products on my skin. One of the BEST things about Tula Skincare is that the products really perform, though they are lightweight. It’s a winning combination that leaves my skin feeling fresh, clean, and clear. I also have a discount code for you, enter 15JAIMIE at checkout to receive 15% off your order. Sweet!

Tula wants its users to feel healthy with the skin they have while offering solutions to common skincare concerns. We all have our issues!  Tula’s products focus on restoring skin’s natural balance and radiance, nourishing skin to improve hydration and smoothness, and soothing skin to calm the look of irritation and inflammation. They are cruelty free, meaning products are not tested on animals. All Tula products are free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, mineral oil and petrolatum, formaldehydes, triclosan, retinol, gluten and fragrance. The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser

I found this cleanser to live up to its hype as a cult classic. First, it’s a full 6.7FL OZ/200ML. Love it when a tube arrives full and of a good size, it feels as if there is value for the money! There were a couple days where I was a little overzealous with the sun, and this cleanser gently removed the build up of sweat and sunscreen while calming and not further irritating my skin. Best of all, my skin felt soft, not tight and dry afterwards.

Lactic acid is the main ingredient that assists in gently cleansing and exfoliating the face, along with chicory root, a natural anti-inflammatory prebiotic to help boost the appearance of firmer skin. I don’t know about you, but I love the appearance of firmer skin! Turmeric root and blueberries reduce inflammation and protect the skin as antioxidants. And then there are the probiotics, which is part of what makes Tula Skincare so unique. These help to hydrate and lock in moisture.

So Poreless Deep Exfoliating Blackhead Scrub

Who doesn’t love a good scrub?  This scrub has tiny granules of volcanic sand, pink salt, and pomegranate to exfoliate skin on a deeper level. Probiotics help improve the skin’s smoothness, and witch hazel and raspberry leaf help purify pores to minimize the look of blackheads. I adore the smell of this exfoliator, the raspberry really comes through, combined with the witch hazel in a fresh, fruity kind of way. You’ll see what I mean if you give it a try! The scrub is effective enough on its own, or you can pair with a soft, bamboo washcloth. I have used these washcloths on my girls since they were babies, and we continue to use them for cleansing our faces.

Face Filler Blending and Moisturizing Primer

There is a reason this primer is one of Tula’s top sellers. It lives up to the hype, instantly blurs skin imperfections, and leaving a soft, smooth canvas to apply makeup over. The first time I used it, I literally had a huge smile on my face because I couldn’t believe a product could be this good! In one simple application, my skin was evened out, with the red areas on my cheeks gone. It also provides a silky texture so that skin feels supple, plumped, and moisturized. Applying makeup onto dry, patchy skin is the worst, and this primer will resolve that issue for you. Or go it alone with just the primer for a fresh and polished look. Licorice, chia seeds and probiotics are what help to nourish the skin and even improve your skin’s appearance over time.

Glow & Get It Eye Balms

These eye balms come packaged in a stick form that makes it easy to apply around the orbital area. I applied under and around the eye, up to the brow bone. There was an immediate brightening effect that left my eye area feeling dewy. There are a few different formulations of the eye balms, with the main difference being that the pink one, shown below, adds a bit more of a rose tone. Think rose gold, which looks stunning with a tan, or I imagine, with darker or more olive skin tones. Ingredients include  caffeine to tighten and firm the look of lines and wrinkles, blueberry, which is rich in antioxidants and helps to hydrate and protect the skin around the eyes, and aloe, apple, and watermelon, which provides hydration to the eye area. Kind of sounds good enough to eat, doesn’t it? Certainly refreshing! The rose version has the addition of rosehip oil, which is a plant based retinol alternative and has antioxidant properties such as Vitamin C, in addition to rosewater, which is hydrating and also protects against free radicals.

The eye balms glide on smoothly over makeup and refresh a tired eye area. I’ve been using it a couple times of day in these stay at home times as a little break for me, and to wake myself up from all the early days with the kids.

24/7 Moisture Hydrating Day and Night Cream

If you’re looking for a night cream, you may want to try something a little heavier, particularly if you’re going to be a dry region, or if colder weather is harsh on delicate or mature skin. Tula offers a solution with their 24/7 Moisture Hydrating Day and Night Cream. I do maintain that the Dew Your Thing Gel Cream is nourishing and hydrating, though I also understand the need for extra moisture. I live in New England and we have winters that can be very drying to the skin, particularly with indoor heating running 24/7. See what I just did there? Rice nutripeptides, along with probiotics help firm skin, lock in moisture and balance skin to improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles, while watermelon fruit extract and squalene deeply hydrate. Squalene, is sourced from olives and oat bran, not sharks, seeing as Tula is a cruelty free brand. Squalene has been found to help people with psoriasis and is deeply moisturizing.

Protect and Glow Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30

I’ve searched high and low for a daily moisturizer with broad spectrum sunscreen. Sure there are some good ones out there, though I am truly obsessed and always looking for the next best thing, I find the Tula Protect and Glow Daily Sunscreen to be the best I’ve found. It glides on smoothly without that overpowering sunscreen smell, and it also absorbs quickly so on those days when you’re wanting to apply makeup, you can quickly move on to the next step of getting ready. Like the Dew Your Thing Oil-Free Gel Cream, it’s lightweight with all the aforementioned benefits. It is reef-safe, so no oxybenzones, and ingredients include pineapple, papaya and ginger root, which assists in protecting skin against blue light. I don’t know about you, but I spend quite a bit of time in front of my devices, so this is a bonus. Winner!
