One of the top trends for spring is long shorts. How to wear long shorts? They are longer than most shorts, yet are shorter than cropped pants. Long shorts can feel like a skirt, though are comfy like shorts.

Are they culottes, or Bermuda shorts? I’m wearing mine looser than Bermuda shorts, yet more fitted than culottes. Super wearable, this is a trend that can be worn even before the weather starts to warm up. With a pair of closed toe shoes and a blazer or cropped jacket, long shorts can be worn now. Why wait for spring?
Long Shorts are Easy
Worn with a belt that pops, long shorts can be an easy and stylish option in many settings. Since they are longer in length, they work at occasions where shorter and more casual shorts would not be appropriate. I’ve paired my long, black shorts with a organza puffed sleeve top and accessorized with heavy jewelry in a gold tone for a standout style that goes from the street to the office. As the weather warms up, a camisole and sandals would also work.
Long Shorts Allow for Personal Expression
Wondering if these looser fit long shorts are a take on the biker shorts of last year? While those were a fun silhouette to play with, they were limited as athleisure and were better suited to the gym or casual days. Depending on how you style longer shorts, you can show off your personal style, whether that be sporty, with a cropped sweatshirt, preppy, with a button up collared shirt, or work attired, with a tie front pussycat bow blouse.

I’ve never really been able to decide whether I’d like this style on myself or not. I’ve never been a fan of bermuda shorts – and while I like a good pair of culottes, the in-between length on me makes me feel like I’ve chopped off the longest parts of myself haha! I love these long shorts in black, which seemed like a fun way to transition from winter to spring. We have been experiencing crazy weather here on the east coast with dramatically varying temperatures. These shorts seemed like a unique transitional piece.
