She Styled It: Billie Newland
Initially the “She Styled It” series was going to be a monthly series, though it’s been such a pleasure communicating and collaborating with other women, that I’ve decided to feature it on the blog as a weekly series. There are so many creative and stylish women out there, spotlighting one a month just isn’t enough! Here’s how it works…the subject selects an item from their wardrobe and styles it two to three different ways, shares details about their outfits, and describes what style means to them.
This week features Billie Newland. I have not yet met Billie, though we connected over Instagram this past September while we were both in New York for NYFW. I look forward to Billie’s posts popping up in my IG feed. Her style pushes the envelope in a relatable way, and her witty sense of humor truly stands out. Leopard Faux Fur Coat
1) What piece did you choose to style and what made you choose it?
I chose a leopard faux fur coat. I chose this because I believe it is a closet staple that every woman should own. It’s timeless and effortless, and it is one of the easiest ways to spice up an outfit!
2) Is there anything that inspires your fashion choices?
I get inspired by anything that’s bold, fun, and different. I really like doing things out-of-the-box. I really don’t like to wear what anyone else is, so if I can make people do a double-take, I take that as a win!
3) What does the word “style” mean to you?
Style to me means being expressive, confident, and independent. I believe everyone has their own sense of style – although we can all be influenced by others. It’s the combination of our outward inspirations and our personalities that shape our “personal style”.
