Spring Style: How to Wear your Favorite Faux Leather Shacket

Fashion

If you were to take a poll inquiring about the most influential trends from the last year, faux leather pieces and shackets are two trends that would likely be named by numerous respondents. Why not combine the two together? I’m sharing spring style: how to wear your favorite faux leather shacket!

If you don’t know, a shacket is essentially a cross between a shirt and jacket. Usually most shackets are oversized and provide that menswear-inspired silhouette. It’s the cutest way many women have stayed cozy these last few seasons! A shacket looks right thrown over just about anything. I’m pretty much obsessed with the shackets I do own, but the faux leather shacket trend has definitely become my all-time favorite for spring.

How to Wear a Faux Leather Shacket

If you haven’t added a shacket to your wardrobe yet – now is truly the time. The shacket I’m styling here is lightweight, and the color is a perfect neutral for the spring and summer months ahead. And shackets show no sign of slowing down, so you’ll be able to wear it well into the upcoming fall season.

Since it’s still chilly where I’m living, I compiled two perfect looks that would look fantastic with a faux-leather shacket to complete the look. For styling purposes, I thought I would be able to style more outfits with a white shacket, rather than traditional black faux-leather.The lighter color definitely gives the look a fresher and brighter feel. There is even a corresponding pant for that sleek matching set look. See below. The look on the left includes a pair of white track joggers and a classic Veja sneakers. The look on the right includes a pair of distressed denim and white combat boots. Both looks share the v-neck button front cardigan as the top option.

But, if you want to show more legs this spring and summer, check this outfit out! I paired the shirt from Amazon that I have been super crazy about with a classic pair of denim shorts. If you’ve been following along with my latest blog posts, you  how much I love this top, I also have it in blue.

I included light-wash denim shorts in this look, and loved how my transparent studded sandals completed this beautiful outfit. This outfit would also look amazing with a pair of paperbag shorts or white denim shorts as the bottoms, with a solid-colored white or nude bodysuit as the top.

With athletic wear or loungewear and a pair of sneakers:

On those days when you’re lounging around the house or running errands, style your faux leather shacket with a matching athletic or loungewear set. The look is super cute with a fresh pair of sneakers and a ball cap!

With a denim skirt and a pair of pumps:

But to dress faux-leather shackets up, I also love pairing them with a denim skirt, solid bodysuit and pair of tall pumps. Such a fun and edgy look if you’re looking to step into a different fashion element!

What’s your favorite style of shacket (plaid, textured, faux leather, neutral, long etc.)? Would love to  hear your thoughts below!

    1. Thank you! I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I bought it, though I am so fashion curious. The shacket ended up being one of those pieces that ended up being even better than I hoped! xo Jaimie
